Geotechnical: Century Engineering Inc. provides Geotechnical Engineering services to public and private sector, architects, owners, developers, contractors, industrial and marine clients. We have performed geotechnical investigations to determine foundation and retaining wall design parameters for new building structures and additions, bridges, railroads, marine and waterfront facilities. We perform subsurface investigations for roadways and develop recommendations for earthwork, drainage, and pavement design. We provide in-situ testing for stormwater management facilities, investigate foundation settlement problems, and perform slope stability evaluations. We also provide construction monitoring services for foundation, retaining walls, and field testing of compacted fill.

Laboratory Services: Century Engineering develops site-specific Laboratory Testing Programs to determine soil and rock parameters required for geotechnical analysis and design. Laboratory testing is selected based on the design requirements of each project, and routinely includes moisture content, soil classification, plasticity, shear strength and compaction testing. Certain projects require more detailed types of testing including consolidation, shear strength and permeability. Our technicians are certified by the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and the Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP).
