St. Bartholomew's

This project involved a new 17,000 square foot church designed for traditional Roman Catholic use with high ceilings and open wood truss construction. An elevated choir loft area was provided above the Nave. A multipurpose room with kitchenette was also provided. Support spaces included offices, conference room and library. Provisions were made for a future small addition. Project features include:

  • Multiple constant volume HVAC systems
  • Split system HVAC equipment with gas furnaces and remote condensers
  • Ductwork coordinated with open architecture
  • Acoustical considerations in air system design
  • Complete multi-zone architectural dimming system
  • Horizontal and vertical illumination analysis
  • 225KW generator provides full backup
  • Coordination with audiovisual systems
Challenges Encountered:
  • Coordinating exposed HVAC system ductwork with open architecture.
  • Achieving appropriate sound attenuation.
